The priory has been in existence since the 1930s. Originally in Bridge St (over the border) the club moved to new premises on Marton Road in 1973.
The priory is well known in Middlesbrough for its good beers and lagers at fair prices as well as Entertainment on Saturday and Sunday evenings is top class, and members and visitors most welcome.
The priory also caters for games leagues for men and women to participate.
The bingo forecast is probably the best in Middlesbrough with great payouts every Wed, Fri, Sat and Sunday evenings. The letter tote on sun lunch (12 noon until 2pm) pays out in excess of £2,500 most sessions.
The Priory Social Club is also renown for its charity evenings, raising money for local charities such as “Great North Air Ambulance” and many others. Andrew Mather (concert chairman) and his team of workers put on a fine show for these worthy causes.
The Priory, like most clubs has been hit by the recession and no smoking rules, but is now making great progress to ensure the future is safe for many years to come for members and their families.
The Priory Social Club is run by Allan Gray (President) Peter Carey (Vice President) along with 12 committee members. Also in the team are Mick Rodgers (Club Secretary) and Ken Crowe (Steward).
